Let go of the constant pressure from the modern world to be busy and revive your spirits with Mother Earth’s healing energy and strength when you join Cree North Adventures for an opportunity to reconnect with yourself and the land. Created in July 2019, by Flying Dust Nation member, Blaine Mirasty, Cree North Adventures offers authentic Cree experiences such as a hands-on demonstration of setting up a tipi or cooking over an open fire along the banks of the Meadow River in Saskatchewan: “I created Cree North Adventures to help promote, preserve and re-learn traditional Cree land-based activities. Join me so we can sustain and enhance our traditional Cree way of life.” Learn to make pemmican and pick berries; paddle a canoe or kayak on a guided tour; learn the Cree world-view of ‘miyo-pimachesowin’ from Elders; enjoy the beauty of winter on an interpretive snowshoe expedition along a groomed trail through the bush; camp out under the stars in our secluded campground with nearby house access for indoor shower and bathroom use, also outdoor portable facilities available. Upgrade to a ‘glamping’ experience in an 18ft traditional Cree tipi with all mod cons—insulated liner, -30 sleeping bags, wood stove, camping cots, artificial grass, power and rope lights around the tipi with guest room access for wi-fi services!

Indigenous respect for the force of winter
The best way to experience the magic of Canada’s winter is with an Indigenous guide at your side. They are intimately familiar with survival techniques that have been passed down through generations and work in close connection with the natural world.
